I started Karate at One 2 One Karate in May 2008 - after a twelve year absence from the sport.

My main motivation was that I had read a number of online articles that it would assist me in controlling a chronic medical condition. I therefore decided to approach Kim at One 2 One Karate.

Kim was fully understanding of my medical condition and also took into account my previous Karate experience. Additionally, I also found her to be a very knowledgeable and approachable Karate Instructor who has no problem in conveying new concepts and techniques in an easy to understand manner - which I believe enhances your progression towards your own personal goals.  

I would highly recommend Kim and One 2 One Karate!

I am a very active person, and always wanted to take up Karate but never felt brave enough to do it, fearing the humiliation of being a novice. I have to say that the private sessions with Kim have been very fruitful, and I feel very much at ease. The positivity Kim exudes really helps boost your confidence, and it is a great way to switch off from work pressures etc.


From a financial perspective, the private sessions are very reasonable and the rate of progress is pretty swift, even with little practice outside of these sessions. Highly recommend.

I would like to very strongly recommend

one2one Karate. I wanted very much to take up karate as a sport however I was somewhat reluctant to join a karate club as I am 41 years old and I have not been to a gym or played sport for the best part of a year.

 

I contacted Kim, who advised me to take private lessons if I had any reservations about my fitness. She assured me that that there were many people of my age group who were not only having karate lessons but excelling in karate.

 

I was extremely surprised at how reasonably priced the private lessons were and how quickly I came to learn the basic kicks, punches, blocks, and katas. Kim has a very practical approach to karate lessons and teaches practical self-defence at the lessons.

 

Kim is a natural teacher and she is very patient and encouraging to her students. After only four months of training I have been given a boost in confidence and I am getting fit in a thoroughly enjoyable environment. I feel that having karate lessons also assists me to deal with work-related stress.

I have been training with Sensei Kim in nunchuka and bo/staff for over a year now. When I first started training with weapons I found training difficult, but after a few lessons things started falling into place pretty fast thanks to Sensei Kim. I am now at the stage where I am learning to use two nunchaku at the same time and I can spin a bo/staff pretty fast. Sensei Kim is a great teacher I would highly recommend.

 

I think weapons training is great and a fantastic knowledge to add to your karate skills or to learn on its own, it’s a great way of staying flexible and fit. Weapons training adds much more to your martial arts fighting skills.
